      Welcome to our Homepage

We hope you enjoy our site and come back often to see the changes and please sign our guest book, it will mean a lot to us.

"GRAND KIDS" - We are going to use this site mostly to show off our grand kids.  But they seem to make their way into most of our pictures so you will see them all over this site.

"WORK AT THE LAKE" - Will show what we have done as far as fixing the place up to make it ours.  I will also include a commentary of what's going on and include a time line as we only have a few days to do most of our projects.

 "LAKE OF THE OZARK" - Will include maps and interesting things in or around the lake area.  Several caves are in the area that can be toured.  There are restaurants and bars on the lake and the Bagnel Dam strip has a main street that has all the tourist trap shops.

"LAKE PICTURES" - A place for us to put pictures that we think are interesting, cute, funny or have a story behind them.

"DOCK AND BOAT" - Includes stuff happening on or around the dock and in the boats.  It will include pictures of boats on the water including tubing, skiing or fishing.

The lake side of the house as we bought it.  Lots of little windows and each one had mini blinds and curtains, we couldn't see out.  So, we took some of the upper deck out and took out little windows and put in a big window.  Sweeeeeet!

==========================================================

When we bought the place, Julie's dad, Jim Oldenkamp made us a sign for the tree and I think it looks darn nice.  The lake association took them all down but we need to get it back and put it up again.  What good is it to buy a lake house and not have your name on a sign on a tree where you turn?  It's un-American!

Side view of the house before we took down the awning, raised the roof and dug out the left side where the rock is about 12" higher than the block.  This all came under, work to be done when we bought it, but this is how we bought the house.  Approx. 1,200 square feet, 4 bedroom, bath and a half, fireplace, two decks and a 32' X 40' dock.

In this picture it shows where we took out some of the upper deck that we never used and  the 5' X 10' picture window that we hauled down from Sioux City, IA on a trailer.  We took out seven small windows and replaced them with this big window and two small ones in the bedroom.  The little upper deck to the right is Ethan and Mallory's "fort" and we have since enclosed the bottom and made it into a utility room for storage of tools and stuff.  We put down fake green grass carpet on the deck and the kids like to play up there.  To the left is the lighted palm tree that Ethan insists that it is on every night.  It does look neat.
