 Ethan on his boat squirting daddy. I don't know what it is about that thing but the water coming out of the squirt thingie is a good 20 degrees colder than the lake water.
 Heading out for a morning fishing, a little late but it turns out to be a good day fishing. Lots of crappie, bass, a couple catfish and a few white bass. We even get an occasional walleye. Walleye in this area are considered second rate fish and unfit to keep, a DNR officer lives in a cove a mile down the lake and he has them stocked in his cove so they find their way to where we fish. You can't buy leeches here either, no one sells them. If you ask for them they shudder and tell you no one would touch them. |
 I got the idea one night, so I started working on my "crappie tree" and put it together. the holes in this one were straight across from each other. I then figured out that if I turned the center tube 1/4 turn and went down 8" each time I drilled a hole it would let crappie get betwen the "branches". Filled it with foam so it floats and will be tied to a cement block on the bottom of the lake. Edison's got nothing on me!
 You want to talk about a big firefly. Wow!
 Brian with an average crappie out of the lake, we couldn't catch them when we first started fishing the lake, had to figure how a system. Now we can get an average of 30 a morning and 20 will be keepers. Crappie have to be 9" to be legal so they are nice fat crappie.
 Mallory, Grandma Julie and Ethan and I don't think he's going to share. I would work on the baby, you might get a bite there. Nothing like stealing a bite out of a soggy cookie. |
