FISHING - SHOPPING - GOLF - CAVES - DINING There's a lot to do at the lake and this is just a small sampling, click on the links below to start your tour. FISHING: We have had a great year of fishing. We caught catfish, crappie, bluegill, bass, white bass, walleye, and Brent's personal best ultra-mini bluegill. Search the site to find this whopper but a warning; you'll have to look closely to see it. GOLF: There are several very nice public golf courses in the area and they are open 12 months out of the year. Brian has played golf here, I don't, I get way to mad and I don't pay anyone just to get mad. The public course he played has a dress code and he said he felt like he was golfing a country club course. CAVES: There are at least 300 wild caves in the area around the lake and a couple large caves that you can tour. SHOPPING: There is a huge factory outlet mall in Osage Beach and several tourist type shops on the Bagnel Dam road. I would estimate well over 100 shops in this mall, it is huge and the ladies enjoy going to the after Thanksgiving sales. I just keep hoping they will bring me back some coconut fudge. RESTAURANTS: Dining, you can eat on the water by boat or drive to a restaurant by car, choice is yours. I didn't think I would like eating on the water but it was nice. We have a favorite place that isn't real busy most of the time and the food is good. Nice view of the water, boats and shore from the deck. There are several places close by on the water to eat or drink. |
